The Workforce Investment Board can provide training opportunities for eligible dislocated workers or low-income adults. Training is offered in a number of "In-Demand Occupations" as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor. Training is available through a number of State approved Training Providers. Youth
The Workforce Investment
Board can provide services to at-risk youth
ages 14 through 21. To be an eligible youth
the youth must meet the Workforce Investment
Act low-income guidelines and meet at least
one of the following conditions:
Deficient
in basic literacy skills
School
dropout
Homeless,
runaway, or foster child
Pregnant
or parenting
Offender
An individual (including
a youth with a disability) who requires
additional assistance to complete an
educational program, or to secure and
hold employment
