The Region VII Workforce
Investment Board can provide up to 50% of
the trainee wages (maximum $4,000 per trainee)
for each Workforce Investment Act eligible
trainee. Training takes place at the employer’s
facility with the trainee learning required
skills while they produce goods or provide
services for the employer.
Training is short term,
usually no longer than six months and is
under the supervision and guidance of the
employer. Staff of the Workforce Investment
Board assists the employer to develop training
curriculum, training benchmarks, and monitor
training activities. All trainees must meet
WIA eligibility guidelines.
