Youth Services

The Workforce Investment Board can provide services to at-risk youth ages 14-21. To be an eligible youth you must meet the Workforce Investment Act low-income guidelines and meet at least one of the following conditions:

  • Deficient in basic literacy skills
  • School dropout
  • Homeless, runaway, or foster chld
  • Pregnant or parenting
  • Offender
  • An individual (including a youth with disability) who requires additional assistance to complete an education program, or to secure and hold employment.

Youth services are provided by the Workforce Investment Board by contracting with our youth service providers. Youth service providers, in conjunction with other youth organizations, to identify eligible at-risk youth to receive Workforce Investment Board funded youth services.

Youth Council works in an advisory capacity to the Workforce Investment Board. The council consists of dedicated community members from business, education, and youth support agencies focused on providing at-risk youth the opportunities to become productive and contributing citizens in the Region VII area.
